MN Energy Smart

Project Funding Assistance

Studies show that project funding is the biggest barrier to making an energy upgrade. Energy Smart can help you find funding for energy-efficiency projects including utility rebates, grants and low-cost loans.  Our staff provides customized research to help businesses and organizations locate financial incentives that are available to them. We can also help businesses pursue those incentives by gathering the necessary paperwork and checking over the forms.

Funding Assistance Success Story

In July of 2010, Caledonia Care & Rehab in southwestern Minnesota was awarded a $83,872 matching grant from the state to make several energy efficiency improvements, including upgrading its lights and electrical system and installing new building temperature controls. Energy Smart notified the center in late 2009 about the grant opportunity, after working closely with its facilities manager to identify energy-saving opportunities and funding opportunities. The grant, awarded by the Minnesota Office of Energy Security, was made possible by federal stimulus funding given to the state to help businesses and organizations reduce their energy use.
