Installing “low-flow” aerators on restroom and kitchen faucets can reduce water heating costs by 25% to 60% according to the Department of Energy.
Standard aerators generally have flow ratings of 2.2 gallons per minute, while low-flow ones produce 1.5 gallons per minute or less. These low-flow aerators – which replace some water flow with air — can often be found at local hardware stores or online for less than $10 each. They typically pay for themselves within a few months.
Get a complimentary low-flow aerator for a business and more information about them by contacting Energy Smart at (651)292-4652 or info@mnenergysmart.com.
